Patreon

I recently came across this great service/site called Patreon.com It’s like an on-going Kickstarter for artist and musicians. So, I joined http://www.patreon.com/jimfaris.

Here is the deal. So many times I’ve run into great artist that I love but couldn’t afford their art or I find people online doing a great comic strip or a tumblr feed that I hope never ends and I want to support then, but I’m a struggling artist trying to make a buck too… I can buy everything. But I just wish I could do something. So I make sure I click any ads on their pages incase Google Ads are active and I occasionally save up and buy a piece.

But now there is Patreon. For as little as a buck a month, you can help the art and artist you love keep making that art. You just pledge what you can afford. Some artist give away art, or sell at discounts or offer rewards. It’s really pretty cool.

I put up my Patreon site http://www.patreon.com/jimfaris last night and I’m offering a few Rewards cheap. A Nugget a month program, a printed sketchbook, and a discount on a large print. I’ll figure out more stuff once I get more time.

So for all of you that have asked how to be part of my emerging art scene, I can now offer you the ability to support my art. (yes, it sounds a bit pompous to me too)
